Introduction:
The College of Engineering has a number of scholarships available for students embarking on an MSc course in September 2014.
Eligible courses include:
  • MSc Aerospace Engineering

Candidate eligibility:
Scholarships are available only to new MSc/MRes applicants who are UK/EU categorized students.
Applicants will need to hold or be expecting to achieve a minimum of a 2.2 (or equivalent)
Studentship value:
Scholarships will cover the full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a £5,000 student living costs award (tax free).

Humanities Scholarships , University of Oxford , 2014

The University has recently been awarded £14 million for postgraduate studentships in a range of arts and humanities disciplines by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). This AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership will provide funding for at least 200 doctoral students and a number of master’s students during 2014-19. It will add to the existing range of postgraduate scholarships in the humanities, including the Ertegun Scholarship Programme, which creates a unique setting that fosters dialogue across academic disciplines, cultures and generations, and the Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarship Programme, for outstanding students who demonstrate the potential to make an impact in the fields of history, literature and languages.

Applications are invited for a Teaching Fellow in Quantitative Methods. This is a joint appointment between the Department of Sociology and the Department of Politics and International Studies.
This is one of eight new permanent posts that will join an existing team of quantitative social science scholars as part of the Warwick Q-Step Centre (see below). Whilst based jointly in Politics and International Studies and Sociology, you will be a member of a broader team within the new Warwick Q-Step Centre.
You will undertake teaching, administration and other teaching-related activities supporting the Warwick Q-Step undergraduate and postgraduate quantitative methods degrees in the Department of Politics and International Studies and the Department of Sociology.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding quantitative methods teacher. Teaching will concentrate on core and optional modules in quantitative methods including developing online teaching and learning materials for the shared quantitative modules. You will have an ability and willingness to teach applied quantitative research methods at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels. An aptitude for applied quantitative social science research is essential.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary group that’s committed to safeguarding the physiological and psychological needs of our military personnel, you’ll help to mitigate the detrimental effects of external stressors, including protective systems.. Our people encounter a number of environments on land, sea and air and it’s our responsibility to do everything in our power to look after their welfare to the best of our ability.
You'll provide evidence-based scientific advice to the MoD on the assessment, enhancement and sustainment of the physical performance of our people. Advising at all levesl across a broad range of studies, you’ll develop consultancy skills to share both your expertise and our work to academic and industry partners, as well as carry out training and clinical trials as needed. And if you prove yourself, this could be a role that will take you to the next stage of your career as a Senior / Principal Technical Consultant.
About the requirements
At the very least you’ll have a high class degree in physiology or related science. Beyond that we’ll expect you to have worked as an Applied Physiologist (dealing with human physiology) and to be someone who can provide realistic, holistic solutions to a variety of cases. You will need to be able to apply your knowledge to a military environment and have plenty of experience of conducting human volunteer trials, carrying out design and statistical analysis and having practical evidence of supporting ethical considerations of human experimentation. The ability to convey sensitive and complex information will be critical, as will excellent report writing skills.

BIMAS is a premier microfinance institution in Kenya providing responsive, effective and efficient financial services, professionally to micro and small entrepreneurs. 

We are seeking to fill the position of a Credit Officer.

Key responsibilities and skills:
 
Business Development
  • Outreach and promotion
  • Registration of two new groups per month with clients not less than 48.
  • Coordinate budget within your portfolio
  • Network with area Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs at least two per month
  • Proactively market lending and savings opportunities from current and prospective clients
  • Attend to all queries in relation to individual clients at the outpost
  • Identify and solve clients’ needs by offering available products and identifying new products as per client needs.
Reporting
  • Daily monitoring of schedules and other documents in your portfolio.
  • Continuously update your supervisor on feedback from the clients and give recommendations for growth.
  • Appraise and promptly address customer issues escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution
Supervision
  • Management of branch assets to ensure they are well maintained and in good working order
  • Ensure disbursement of facilities as per the terms of offer
  • Ensure compliance with BIMAS lending policies.
  • Implementation of strict cost control measures
  • Management of non-borrowing accounts under their code to enhance customer loyalty, mitigate against loss and enhance increased business.
  • Enhance networking with all stakeholders including Government officials.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • A Kenyan citizen aged 25 years and above.
  • Diploma in business management or its equivalent
  • Should have obtained a minimum of C PLAIN in KCSE
  • 2 year experience in Banking, Microfinance or Sacco’s environment.
  • Should be a person of high integrity, bold and decisive, with good interpersonal skills, a team player.
  • Results oriented and able to meet targets.
