Due to the exciting event department’s growth, we are now recruiting a Conference Manager to join the dynamic event team at GOPA-Cartermill. This role requires someone who is able to think creatively, work proactively and to cover all areas of events from concept to completion.
This broad and varied role will include:
- Managing client expectations from concept to completion;
- End to end project management of events;
- Overseeing financial budgets with management;
- Assisting with client development & maximisation;
- Assisting in new pitches and proposals;
- Attending client meetings to take initial briefs;
- Supplier management;
- Creating project plans and critical timelines for events;
- Overseeing production and technical supplier management;
- On-site management of events.
Qualifications/skills:
- 3-5 years’ experience in conference organisation;
- Fluent in English and French (mother tongue level). Any other language is an asset;
- Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail;
- Good knowledge of Word for Windows, Excel, Outlook as well as registration software;
- Ability to independently manage projects on very tight deadlines;
- Strong communication skills at all levels with the desire to succeed as part of a flexible, yet dedicated fast-moving events team;
- Proactive and creative;
- Flexible, ready for possible extended hours on show site;
- Willing to travel;
- Ability to start on short notice.
