ReachCentrum is currently looking for a Legal advisor/consultant (M/F) to extend the team in Brussels. We are looking for a candidate with 2-5 years of experience as a lawyer and who has an interest to further develop his/her skills in the field of consultancy/project management.

ReachCentrum

ReachCentrum is the professional services body established by Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, which has been designed to help companies all through the value chain to fulfil the requirements of the EU REACH regulation on chemical substances. ReachCentrum provides guidance to get acquainted with the REACH requirements, managing consortia, organising workshops and delivering in-company trainings. 
ReachCentrum is expanding its service portfolio in line with the evolution in the REACH regulation. In that aspect ReachCentrum is offering also technical knowhow regarding the compilation of application for Authorisations and other consultancy services. In addition ReachCentrum is also supporting Chemical companies on the Biocides Regulation in force since September 2013.

Job Description

Legal support/advice to our customers is key for the visibility of ReachCentrum in the market. The main part of the job will be to be up-to-date with the EU REACH and Biocidal Products Regulation for interpretation and giving guidance to the customers. In addition the job involves supporting projects from a project management perspective.

Main Tasks

Contracts:

• Contract drafting and negotiation;
• Third party contract review;
• Third party contract approval;
• Contract drafting follow-up;
• Contract management.

REACH and Biocides regulations:

• REACH and Biocidal Products legal text interpretation and explanation;
• Being up to date on commonly accepted interpretations;
• Liaise with Cefic on latest legal and guidance developments;
• Advice to customers (written as well as spoken);
• REACH and Biocides topic presentations at ReachCentrum and third party events;
• Customer legal support: consultancy.

Apart from these REACH and Biocides related tasks there is also an extension of services ongoing which relate to non-REACH legislation for which similar tasks could be described as envisioned for REACH.

Consultancy:

• Liaise with individual customers or consortia;
• Manage the project: planning, budget, meetings, etc.;
• organize the communication with other stakeholders;
• Coordinate the technical work to complete the project;
• Solve upcoming issues.

• Bilingual (at least English).

The person should be able to take initiative once a task has been assigned. He should be able to take it forward. Experience with chemicals industry is an advantage.
