Job Overview/Summary:
The Reporting and Communications Manager will be responsible for the editing and finalization of narrative reports to donors and for designing and implementing a communications strategy for IRC Mali. S/He will also assist the Grants Coordinator in other grants related tasks as described below.
Major Responsibilities:
Edit and finalize high quality narrative reports for donors in compliance with donor requirements and IRC Mali internal calendar and process – 35%
Design a country program communication strategy and produce information and communication materials such as brochures, newsletters, contribution to global IRC news bulletin, and annual and sector reviews – 35%
Train/coach program staff on communication strategies and presentation of information in donor reports - 10%
Assist the Grants Coordinator in grants management: ensure proper filing and maintaining of program-related documentation (grant files); ensure regular programmatic and financial reports are received from sub-grantees and fulfill the requirements; participate in Grants meetings (Opening, review and closing) and distribute minutes – 20%
At the request of the Grants Coordinator and/or Country Director, support miscellaneous projects not falling under responsibilities underlined in this job description Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor or Master degree in International Affairs or International Development;
Work Experience: Previous experience working with international non-governmental organizations in development countries in the area of communication and reports writing; prior experience working with US, EU, and World Bank donors an advantage;
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: proven skills in report editing and writing; excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills; Advanced knowledge of usual desktop software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
Language Skills: Professional fluency in spoken and written English and French; Working Environment:
